NT Lakis attorneys are pleased to present an updated version of our Special Memorandum on Working Legally in the U.S.:  An Overview of Federal Immigration Rules Covering the Employment of Aliens, which we originally issued in 2009.

Given the attention that has been focused on the topic of immigration over the last year, and in particular President Trump’s vows to overhaul federal immigration rules to curb illegal immigration, we thought it might be helpful to present an overview of the rules that apply as of today.

Our updated immigration primer provides a basic summary of the current requirements, processes, and issues involved in legally employing individuals who are not citizens of the U.S. The primer is especially designed to give employer representatives who are not immigration specialists a basic overview of the rules that apply with respect to legally employing aliens in the U.S.
