The Trump Administration has appointed Catherine Eschbach to be the Director of the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs. In this role, she will oversee OFCCP’s transition to its new scope of mission, the Labor Department announced.

On her first day, Ms. Eschbach emailed OFCCP employees that the agency would begin investigating federal contractors’ employment practices. “Most of what OFCCP had been doing was out of step, if not flat out contradictory, to our country’s laws,” she stated.

DOL’s announcement noted that the rescinded Executive Order 11246 had facilitated the adoption of DEI practices that President Trump has ordered federal contractors to end.

Ms. Eschbach previously worked as an associate at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP and as a judicial law clerk for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
