As previously announced by the White House, the deadline under which covered contractor employees subject to President Biden’s Executive Order (E.O.) 14042 federal contractor vaccine mandate must be “fully vaccinated” has now been extended from December 8, 2021, to January 18, 2022.
This deadline extension is designed to align the effective date of the contractor mandate with the effective date of the Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Emergency Temporary Standard (ETS), which requires employers with 100 employees or more to adopt mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policies or require employees to submit to weekly testing. All other substantive requirements regarding the contractor mandate, including masking requirements, remain unchanged.
