The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has voted to approve a draft notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) to revise the agency’s procedural regulations governing the conciliation process.

While the text of the draft NPRM has not yet been made publicly available, we are able to share a high level overview based on a discussion of the proposal that occurred at a virtual public meeting that was held by the EEOC on August 18, 2020, as well as on the written testimony of EEOC Legal Counsel Andrew Maunz summarizing the proposal.
