The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) has officially launched its Payroll Audit Independent Determination (PAID) program, and employers may now apply to participate in this six-month nationwide pilot program. The new program is designed to offer employers the opportunity to voluntarily resolve minimum wage and overtime violations arising under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) to avoid potentially costly and time-consuming litigation.

In conjunction with the official launch of the program, DOL’s Wage and Hour Division (WHD) has posted additional guidance online that details various aspects of the program, including eligibility criteria and information on how to participate.

DOL’s new guidance, along with updated Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), are available online.
