NT Lakis lawyers submitted written comments this week to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) in support of the agency’s proposed amendments to its procedural regulations that would, among other things, explicitly allow individuals to file charges of discrimination online. The EEOC’s proposal was published in the Federal Register on February 22, 2019.1
While our comments support the agency’s efforts to build a fully digital charge-filing system, we also urge the agency to make some necessary improvements to the system before going ahead with its implementation to minimize the potential for abuse and to protect the confidentiality of sensitive information.
