Just days after receiving a formal request for approval from the Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP), the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has given OFCCP the go ahead to begin using two new “focused review” desk audit Scheduling Letters, one for promotion practices under Executive Order (E.O.) 11246, and the other for disability accommodations practices under Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act (Section 503) and religious accommodations practices under E.O. 11246.

With OMB’s quick approval, OFCCP is now cleared to begin sending the new letters to schedule federal contractors identified earlier for a “Promotion Review” or an “Accommodation Review” on OFCCP’s Fiscal Year 2021 (October 1, 2020 – September 30, 2021) Corporate Scheduling Announcement Lists (CSALs).

The new focused review Scheduling Letters, which were approved by OMB without change, are essentially abridged versions of OFCCP’s standard desk audit Scheduling Letter and Itemized Listing, and concentrate primarily, but not exclusively, on items that are pertinent to either a federal contractor’s promotions or accommodation practices.
