The Center for Workplace Compliance (CWC), our affiliated nonprofit membership association, has filed comments supporting OFCCP’s plans to renew its recordkeeping and reporting requirements under VEVRAA.
The agency wants to retain the recordkeeping, reporting, and enforcement requirements in regulations implementing Section 4212 of the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act. These include the contents of the written affirmative action program; annual assessment of outreach; data collection and metrics; and regular communications to state agencies, union officials, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
CWC’s comments support OFCCP’s proposed renewal and recommend that the agency consider clarifying guidance for assessing external veteran outreach efforts. The comments further urge OFCCP to consider issuing guidance that contractors may define relevant terms in a manner consistent with other federal, state, and local requirements.
OFCCP will review the comments it receives before it sends a formal renewal request to the White House Office of Management and Budget. In the meantime, all VEVRAA requirements remain in effect.
