To assist the Trump Administration in gaining a more complete understanding of the Obama Administration’s regulatory and subregulatory accomplishments over the last eight years, and the impacts these initiatives have had on employers, NT Lakis staff prepared a 42-page briefing book that the Equal Employment Advisory Council (EEAC) has delivered to Trump transition officials.

It is common practice when the White House transitions from a president of one political party to another for the new administration to review the prior administration’s accomplishments and make an assessment of which priorities to reverse or revise.  Our subject matter experts prepared the briefing book to help ensure that the Trump Administration knows and understands the issues that are important to employers.  The briefing book has been distributed to key officials at the Department of Labor (DOL), the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), and other federal workplace regulators.

The briefing book provides a high-level review of issues organized by agency.  It includes sections on the EEOC, DOL’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, the National Labor Relations Board, DOL’s Wage and Hour Division, and a section on additional agencies and Obama initiatives that impacted employers.

Most issues discussed within the briefing book are supplemented by comments, memoranda, and other materials that NT Lakis staff members have written over the past several years.  These are included in a five-part appendix which is organized in a way to make it easy to find related information.  Altogether, the briefing book and appendix provide nearly 2,000 pages of substantive material for the new administration to review as it considers how it will approach the many important policy issues discussed.
